The Wheatsheaf is a fairly small establishment near the main junction in Drayton. The interior is fairly cosy with a number of small seating areas. Ales were Bass & Adnams Bitter. Seems to do a fairly decent trade in food. blue_scrumpy - 7 Aug 2017 19:36 |
Stopped in for a pint recently, tempted by the sight of Otter Bitter on the bar. Sadly this was off, but I did get a pretty good pint of Bass. The pub interior has the feel of someone's lounge, with several small rooms all interlinked. The beer garden is really quite something with potted flowers, hanging baskets and a raised grass area and rockery. I drank my pint in the evening sun while the friendly landlord watered the plants and passed the time of day with me. Nice, quirky little village local and well worth a look. cheesyal - 13 Aug 2013 21:11 |

Small Freehouse with 2 handpumps; one Brakspear (yawn) and one Flowers Original (I've not seen this for years). The Flowers was well served. Friendly service, and a nice local feel were observed. The food was ok, a bit overpriced, but certainly perfectly accpetable. Decent enough. thomashenry - 13 Nov 2009 15:12 |
Its a Sunday evening on a Bank Holiday week end and this place is CLOSED. Down the road in The excellent Red Lion they said it is because the Landlord wants a night off!! Well you are in the wrong business then mate bjbrummiejohn - 28 Aug 2008 07:49 |
