| Given the ample delights on offer in other towns and villages in the Oxford area, Islip is perhaps a little under served. This place has a reasonably friendly, local feel but rests on its laurels a little given its location in such a pleasant and historic village. | Went in last week with 2 children, landlord and barstaff were friendly and helpful. Good pint of Hookey bitter and great garden to keep the children ocupied. | Not a bad bet, food pretty decent if not outstanding. Pool table and a theoretcical choice of ales, tho when we went we drank the last two pints of well kept 6X, and after that they'd run out so it was onto the Guiness.
