I was here recently to play Aunt Sally, local team were a friendly bunch with whom we had a good laugh over a couple pints. Welcoming and helpful bar staff, nice interior. One of my teammates was on the ale who seemed very happy with the quality and selection. The only issue if you're outside is the location of being on a busy road, you'll likely encounter a few speeding cars/loud exhausts/loud car stereos/motorists who crave attention. Other than that this was a nice place, would happily visit again. CaptainBeerFace - 9 Jun 2016 10:05 |
A friendly welcome signalled a slightly b etter pub than expected and the only slightly emasculated 1930s interior is pleasing - all faux stained glass and wood fittings. It's the kind of typical pub that you would find near a ring road although thankfully without the 'theme' elements that blight its successors. The ale selection - 3 on pump - wasn't bad. Not a very good pub. No real ale which is always a bad start. Went in and found the locals using a laptop hooked up to the pub speakers blaring weird music out so we sat outside. The outside seating was next to a busy road which was unpleasant. My girlfriend kept getting letched at by the dodgy looking locals that inhabit this pub so we drank up and left. I live close but would not bother going back even if I was about to die of dehydration. oldjoe - 24 May 2009 18:41 |
ive been going in this pub for a couple of years and it did go really down hill for a while after jan left, but since the new tenants have taken over and sorted out the staff this pub just seems to be getting better and better. the new owners are all about community and getting their customers involved in the pub and what is best for them. all i can say to the person that wrote that last comment is you should give it another go, im sure ur oppinion will change anonymous - 26 Jul 2006 10:19 |
