Gutted to hear that this place has closed down - unfortunately, it provides evn more evidence of why breweries should never put their pubs into the hands of a holding company. I managed this place for 6 months in 2006. I was expected to work 90+ hours a week for the sort of wages you'd expect for working part-time, and then I had to pay any staff I employed myself! They wouldn't even allow me to take 20 from petty cash to buy a vacuum cleaner... I've seen it happen to so many pubs, the holding company moves in and runs it into the ground :( rob2uk - 21 Nov 2008 15:57 |
I can imagine this was a proper back street local in its day. Closed and boarded up. As others have said looks ripe for redevelopment. doncaosdelanada - 12 Nov 2008 22:36 |
Still closed. Still no sign of development. toaster - 2 Oct 2008 21:31 |
This used to be a decent local, but after several years of neglect closed down a year or so back. Now scheduled for redevelopment into luxury flats or similar. Rodster - 4 Aug 2008 21:47 |
A proper pub. Pool room upstairs. Good beer and friendly locals. anonymous - 4 Apr 2006 09:43 |
