Not for the real ale types that use this website, but I think it a decent bar. They host some decent gigs here and there is a relaxed ambience in the bar, I agree that service can be slow as its a popular place. Bar staff are usually reasonably polite though. kristianJ - 21 Apr 2012 16:28 |
Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen is one of the cornerstones of Hoxton Square and I am glad it is there. Yes, the service is sometimes bad; yes, I could moan about a few not-that-good drinks, but when going out for a night in Shoreditch I always pop in for one. Don't know why. I just do. And I have always left happy. crickey - 19 Aug 2010 16:51 |
It is with no grat pleasure that I attach the claim to this bar as 'worst bar service in London'. It is a great Saturday night venue with a nice chilled out vibe mixed with a great dance room. However, the bar is significantly understaffed on a Saturday night, and the staff that are there seem more interested in how they look as well as chatting and drinking between themselves to put any conscienous effort into serving clientelle. Perhaps the management are concerned with keeping overheads down during these cost-cutting times, however the investment of 1-2 additional bodies surely would not be much to ask? If you think you'd do well on 'Ration Day' at the Harare Market, then this is the drink purchasing test you've been looking for! Good luck! Jim_The_Beer_Man - 31 May 2009 22:38 |
