A very old and clearly popular pub, with one large bar area set with an open fire on the go at time of visit (off season). Seems very popular for food as most people seemed to be eating. Guinness or Doom were the only options at time of visit....Guinness for me which was pleasant. One of the most interesting things noted in this pub must be the floor which has to be a good foot higher near the street entrance door than towards the rear where the toilets are.....very old ...and odd...for sure! ridleyman - 3 Nov 2018 12:11 |
Hoping to see Fireysean. Had a pint of Doom Bar (the only choice) while I waited. fugglehops - 27 Jul 2018 22:08 |
I took Fireysean's advice this year and hopped past the Sal for the Ship Inn across the street for a wider and better choice of ale! fugglehops - 30 Jul 2016 12:39 |
I drink in the salutation quite regularly, I'm really confused why fugglehops bothers to enter through the door. Doom bar has been served in here ever since the demise of ushers, infact I think they have been with sharps from the start. They sell one real ale and keep it very well ! Fugglehops hop on past the sal cos us locals love it !!! Fireysean - 24 Jul 2016 03:54 |
Popular pub with a poor selection of beer - the dreaded Doom Bar was the only choice. Didn't stop to eat. addlened - 27 Apr 2016 11:50 |
