We visited for lunch on bank holiday monday recently, the choice of food was varied with highlighted home made choices. I had the home made steak and ale pie, followed by home made rhubarb crumble - both were gorgeous, in fact I have never seen a pie with so much tender, melt in your mouth steak in it before! My partner had lovely thick ham, egg and chips. My daughter, being a vegetarian had a good choice of menu too. We didn't realise that they do not take debit or credit cards until too late, but the lady behind the bar (the owner) said that it was not a problem and we could set up a tab and drop the money in another time. A very friendly pub - we will definitely be visiting again. missteresa - 7 May 2012 19:03 |
We discovered this pub on our way home from Ireland, and what a find it was. We'd never been to Dublin before so decided to take the ferry from Pembroke, the trip was OK but we didn't find a pub as welcoming and reasonably priced with such lovely food as the Dragon was whilst we were there. In hindsight we should have just driven to Wales (we're only in Bristol see), it would have saved us a fortune. My wife had some sea bass, which she said was the best fish she'd ever eaten, and I had a gammon, well it was huge and I couldn't finish it. We ended up staying over night at the lovely little b&b next door, the landlady came to the pub for a drink with us. We were so pleased we found langenny, and as its only an hour away from our house I have a feeling we'll be going back again. Thakyou George if you get to read this, we had a lovely evenin. All the best, Albert. Bert_Addinall - 28 Nov 2011 11:06 |

Probably if not the best local pub around, with really friendly staff excellent food huge portions!, loveley beer garden that over looks a small river, very quiet no gambling machines etc, a camp site just down the road. The walks in the area are first rate, if i could live there i would!!! This is one of the best pubs i have ever visted and i have visted ALOT! monk - 15 Aug 2006 19:27 |
A fantastic little pub at the base of the "sugar loaf". Hearty, well portioned food, friendly staff, great value for money! I stayed at the pub's "Inn" where they went out of their way to make my stay memorable - couldnt fault them on any aspect of my stay (and I am not that easy to please). I have booked to go back next weekend! Cant wait! vapenrose - 19 Apr 2006 05:10 |
