| This Hostelry closes at 2-30pm, as do a lot of country village inns. Unlike some others and the chain fraternity. I fail to see what the problem was. I appeared there the other night with a couple of friends and it was an very pleasant time and busy to boot. And the 3 different ales we consumed were all in fine fettle. | Disappointed with the service we got from the elderly lady behind the bar. It was 2:30pm and upon entry into the bar were told that food was finished and that they had just called last orders and were closing. After the great comments from james55westhead we were really looking forward to our visit. But were very disappointed. | Another visit to this pub for ale and food. Seems to be the place to go in Banwell,as the others are now mainly a restaurant (whistling Duck) and a kidspub (Bell). Great all round atmos and good ales and food served here, with consistancy. An excellent location down church lane within a lovely setting.Everyone i speak too have always very good comments and vibes about this place so am not alone.
