The Brewers Arms, Banwell

Disappointed with the service we got from the elderly lady behind the bar. It was 2:30pm and upon entry into the bar were told that food was finished and that they had just called last orders and were closing. After the great comments from james55westhead we were really looking forward to our visit. But were very disappointed. I'm sure Mrs Adams would be very upset to find her staff acting like this and tarnishing her reputation!!!

Bell Inn, Banwell

Went to this pub with wife and children after being made to feel very unwelcome at the other of banwell's village pubs. Landlady made my wife and our children feel very welcome here and a happy wife equals a happy husband!!!!!! Tried the old speckled hen and was not disappointed to find that the ales were being poured straight from the barrel. A superb pint of hen followed by an equally superb pint of Butcombe!! The down side is that there are only fresh rolls available for food (although very nice!!). Pool table and skittles alley kept kids occupied while we enjoyed the fantastic beer. Will be returning in October and look forward to a nice pint of ale with friendly locals, landlady and staff. Highly recommended!!!
