No, no, and no. Those halcyon days of the Black lion (as the pub was formerly known) are a distant memory now. Functionally it's a perfectly adequate boozer, although i guess that depends on what you look for in a boozer. it does have a large range of real ales, plenty of space, pool table, quiz machine, and sky sports. But in terms of atmosphere it is pretty awful and the decor sense of community has been totally lost. A real shame. Dylarolla - 26 Oct 2010 12:44 |
Seems an okay pub to me. Never had any problems even though it does get a wee bit packed and noisy sometimes! turbostar170 - 6 Dec 2009 15:32 |
I have to say I disagree with the recent comments. Although I am slightly biased, I love this pub. The owners Sophie and Danny are great people and I really enjoy the atmosphere. The staff are friendly and the beer/ wine is selection is good. Keep up the fun Clarewilson - 16 Apr 2009 12:33 |
A disappointing pub. Noise and no atmosphere. The Wychwood 'Dirty Tackle' was a reasonable drink. Caraman - 6 Mar 2007 14:49 |
Came into Loughborough for the beer festival, and missed the bus so popped into this pub for a quick one. Had Wychwood Dirty Tackle which was fine. But what a noisy pub. The loud music does nothing to keep drinkers in. It might be a young persons pub, but if so, why was it nearlly empty at around 8pm. gillhalfpint - 4 Mar 2007 18:38 |
