| An updated review.. This pub still seems to be going strong since my 1st visit a few years back. Its got a more traditional feel to it than most of the gastro ones along here Meantime beer on tap which was a definite plus. Theres a more prominent restaurant section at the back than what I remember, with some intricate sitting arrangements, inc a ladder to get to a seating area! | Thought this place was manky and smelly. Staff were mainly ornamental, food was naf ( tasteless fish and chips) and 2 different white wines I tried were warm and tasted awful.The pub must make most of profits out of unsuspecting tourists who seek the Portobello experience. londonpublover - 7 Mar 2010 11:57 |

| I just wanted to read the reviews of this pub as I used to drink here in the mid-'80's.I remember it as being a small establishment..but I shared a drink with many a celebrity back then..Ian McShane...Pete Wylie....we used to go down to the Sam Smith pub then further down Portobello.Shame it burnt down...but a good hustle and bustle area back then....good vibes. sexysadie - 20 Apr 2009 23:03 |
