I have been drinking at the Duke of Northumberland for a couple of years now and can honestly say that that the new management and staff have made this pub a very enjoyable and freindly experience. The new management have kept all the traditional pub games alive and have introduced a variety of live music at weekends and seasonal holidays. With these new welcomed changes the new management have retained their regular customers and have attracted new customers. Overall the Duke of Northumberland is the best drinking experience on Northumbeland Heath and should be visited if not done so before for a decent pint. jonafc - 16 Nov 2009 22:51 |
The Duke is becoming the number one pub on Northumberland Heath, new management has improved the quality of beer and clients. The entertainment has improved from karaoke to live entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays. Customers range from 21 year old to 75 and all agree that the atmosphere is welcoming and all would invite their friends male and female to try an evening out at the duke. When I decided to take a trip to this pub the other night I wasnt quite sure if I was queing for a beer or a candy floss due to the carnival type celebrations taking place. However being open minded I took the chance...and ended up with a toffee apple and a ride on the waltzer! unfortunatly the exit from the waltzer led me back out on to bexley road to continue the crawl. adsapps - 20 Jul 2008 21:14 |

Ok it's not the most posh pub in the heath, but it is your 'everymans pub'....The staff are nice, and even as a foriegner living here, one doesn't feel like they're from another planet when in The Duke.Pleasant place to drink! Toadie - 5 Jul 2006 15:16 |
