Looks like the Knowle has bitten the dust and closed. Lical rumour is the tenant handed the keys into the PubCo! TalbotHill - 29 Jan 2014 20:18 |
Called at this pub whilst in the area and it was really grim! The barman or landlord (couldn't say which) was most unwelcoming and and gave the clear impression that customers were an inconvenience, and how dare they interrupt him to order a drink whilst he is chatting to his mates! But pub was quite busy with locals - maybe after you've been a drinker there for about 10 years you might get a better welcome. The beer garden is weed-infested and surrounded by high walls giving the impression of a prison exercise yard!! Won't be going there again - ever! classic0904 - 22 Aug 2011 15:18 |
True about the piano player stopping when you walk in the door. Lounge is nicer though. Walk down the hill to Brislington I think? knobs_de_fromage - 3 Aug 2009 15:25 |
Returned recently. Still on the same path as a year ago. I hate to say it, but really needs a new landlord. Or new owners, or something. Otherwise, it will soon be a total toilet. Joan_Crawford - 24 Oct 2007 16:11 |
Until recently, this used to be my local. The public bar is a bit scary and the lounge is a bit cliquey it has to be said. I have no shame though and so got stuck in talking to the locals and all was good. The landlord is a bit... Off-handish and could really do with getting stuck in and making the place what it could be. As has been said, the place is crying out for a quality local but unfortunately The Knowle isn't it yet. stef_install - 1 Dec 2006 16:58 |
