I've been to this pub several times in the last couple of months and had an enjoyable meal each time. Friendly and they keep an excellent pint of Harveys. BigCat8 - 7 Jul 2008 08:22 |
I'd got so much into the habit of despising this pub that I'm finding it rather hard to admit it's not too bad now. The current managers are pretty friendly, certainly compared to previous draconian incumbents, and the barmaids are especially good natured. Good enough choice of beers (Harveys Best, Pride, Spitfire) and I've had a couple of very acceptable meals in here recently. It's never going to be a great pub, due to to location, tired decor and a lack of atmosphere, but it's trying quite hard at least. It does still have the frankly disconcerting painting of naked children outside the toilets so some things will never change! pipsby - 31 Aug 2007 10:43 |
Hasn't changed decor since the 50's. Benefitted from new housing estate being built and from all the showjumpers at Hickstead who fancy a quick pint at the end of the day. Tony Blair once had a pint in here. Food expensive for what it is. anonymous - 4 Dec 2006 17:38 |
Pricey but the food is good. Usually quite busy. smuj83 - 4 Aug 2006 14:16 |
