Friendly village pub with a good range of well-kept real ales from local breweries, including a porter, Stocklinch Black Smock, and Cheddar Potholer both of which I enjoyed. Good choice of home cooked meals with an option of choosing large or small portions. Recommended.

What a surprise greeted by several locals on entry plus the "young Man" Mike the patron I believe..Very nice old world pub, excellent pints of George, and an even excellent sunday roast. All staff very attentive and smiling. What more can one say except another GEM in the Somerset crown of good pubs for it's outstanding all round efforts and quality, It's a big thumbs up for me..Definitely going back to try more of this wonderful establishment...

A really friendly village pub with a great atmosphere. The food is all homemade, even the ice creams that are second to none. 4 real ales on at a time including George the Thirst and Butcombe best bitter. There are also two guest beers. The pub is running a brewery of the month at the moment which is Bath ales at present. Sunday lunch is xcellent and there is an extensive bar menu. A pub not to be missed!!

dropped in for a few ales, friendly locals, fire roaring and the odd dog with walkers, good choice again of brews

I'm sad to say that I was somewhat disappointed when I visited this eatery some months back. I say eatery because in my opinion that's exactly what it is, what once was a fantastic village pub has now become a gastro-esque establishment! Well kept ales, a few of which are brewed solely for the George as previously mentioned but I can't help but think that this place has forgotten it's routes .... Word of advice to you; eat here but enjoy a good pint or two in the villages other pub The Bull Terrier which has more of a traditional village feel to it!
