Smart, comfortable interior and excellent service made for a pleasant few hours. London Pride slipped down as well as ever. Kenny260556 - 12 Aug 2017 22:51 |
Had a pleasant stroll around Stamford and popped into the Crown for a drink and a bite to eat. It was a bit pricey for a light bite and a pint, but out of the choice between London Pride, and Timothy Taylor`s Landlord, there was no contest . I was not disappointed, I was distraught that the pint was at an end , and I could n`t have another. Outstanding. The Crown is pleasant , inside and out and the beer is well kept. Job done. anarchobeer - 17 Apr 2017 19:48 |
The hotel bar, lounge and restaurant area is being refurbished. Bar area looks good and there are 3 real ales available. Oakham JHB was one of the best pints sampled on a 3 day stay in Stamford. Beers seem to change on a regular basis. Good value compared to The George. Outside courtyard very popular. Breakfast good but didn't try new food menu. Rocky53 - 29 Sep 2014 14:02 |
The hotel bar was crowded the evening that I drank there. A pint of Adnams bitter was very welcome. jbsjazzer - 25 Nov 2011 15:33 |
We had a couple of well-kept pints and a main course in the restaurant, which was also good. Limited choice on food and not cheap. Clean, classy open pub/hotel with outdoor eating area at the back. I wouldnt say it was much dearer than anywhere else we supped in Stamford, ie outrageously pricey. Pretty much Hobsons choice for eating on Sunday evening as hardly anywhere else does it.
