| I enjoyed drinking Dark Star APA here while watching Premier League matches. Now closed. Bought and converted into a "boutique hotel and restaurant". | A pub that has moved on in my opinion. Mark has tried hard to return the pub to a place where a discerning drinker can get a good pint. This has been largely achieved, but the previous reviewer will and can find better ales in Faversham (Elephant, Vaults, Phoenix) Tragically now it looks like this will change into something other than a pub and another drinking hole will be lost. | Best pub in Faversham for quality real ale and friendly welcome. We were really surprised by this pub and it is now the only one we really go to. We are fussy about our beer and the pub vibe and this pub wins on both counts. Regular beer on offer is Dark Star American Pale Ale and Hop Head. | Visited on a Monday night and was pleasantly surprised. This pub has had an unfortunate reputation in the past ~ but now I found it busy, vibrant, clean and welcoming. Nice mixed client�le. The "Going For Gold" bitter, straight from the cask in the cellar, was fantastic and good value. It is clear the licensee and his staff are putting a lot of effort in. | I last visited this pub a couple of years ago, and wasn't looking forward to going for a Christmas party there, particually as I was booked in to stay as well. However, I was pleasantly suprised. The rooms have been re-furbished, are clean and have delicate finishing touches. Food was gorgeous, although I didn't do it justice! Breakfast would have lasted me all day, but we also stayed for Sunday lunch. Choice of 3 roast meats, with 9 fresh vegetables. Really couldn't manage the homemade Gypsy tart - but I will next time!
