Last post; simply - rubbish! tradervic - 6 Jul 2018 10:31 |
The upstairs room of this pub is where Thomas Shelby masterminded the Great Train Robbery in 1963. HistoryHound - 6 Jul 2018 09:48 |
Third and final pub of the SW1 afternoon ticking session brought me to this Fullers pub just off Belgrave Square. I arrived around 4pm and their were a few couples eating and 2 gents at the bar enjoying an afternoon beer. 4 ales on tap, 3 Fullers and 1 as a guest which was Redemption Pale Ale..this was more than adequate. Again similar to the Horse & Groom this seemed to be a fairly soulless pub again it felt a bit drab to be honest...though it was very pleasant. Maybe I choose the wrong day to do a SW1 crawl! lezford - 25 Jun 2013 14:08 |
A nice place to have a couple of pints, and the beer is excellent with a good choice, if a bit pricey. When I visited, the barman was friendly and welcoming. The toilets are the best you'll see in any pub around the area, and if you are lucky, you might see a mouse running around the bar. nich52 - 22 May 2013 14:02 |
Another good and friendly pub; I'd just give it the edge over the Grenadier which I also visited at the same time. Beer was fine with a decent choice and I was the first customer served by a new member of staff, who was being trained by what I presume was the manager; good luck to you, young man - always serve customers in turn and don't stand talking to your mates when we're waiting. Remember that and you'll be excused many things. I wonder who could be a regular here - you'd either have to travel or be seriously rich to live locally, but the customers seemed friendly enough. Again, I would have stayed longer had I the time and would return here should I be in the vicinity. djw - 24 Feb 2013 00:14 |
