Hey adda What did you expect the staff to do? They apologised but short of getting a sniffer dog what exactly could they have done. Its your bag, look after it! A conspiracy? Be very careful what you alledge and if you didn't see the thief take your bag from your table how do you know no one passed you to get out the back door? Im sure every pub in London has this problem, not so much the thieves themselves but customers who leave their stuff lying around unattended and shout blue murder at bar staff when it gets nicked. And dont tell me you were watching it or it was under your table cause someone managed to get it with out being seen. Was it on the back of your chair perhaps? A city of 8 million people will contain a few bad guys, that's why its your responsibility to look after your stuff. You wouldnt leave your bag lying on the street while you went to buy something or go to the toilet and expect it to still be there when you come back, why act differently in a pub? thirstyboy - 12 Dec 2011 18:21 |
AWFUL!It was a nightmare our first and last visit there! After a pleasant lunch with old friends found in London, 3 hours before our flight to Dublin, we realized that one of our handbags was stoled! The staff from there only appologized but didn't do anything to help us! Could be a conspiracy between the thieves and the staff, because the pub has two doors on two streets and nobody get out through the back door, where we're seated by! All our papers were in that bag, so our holiday was finished from that moment! Especially more that the police, which we hard found, was more interested of the brand of the bag, phone, wallet... as the second day they closed the case!!! We avoided to enter at Asian's in the City (where we lived)and lost a lot of money in an English pub in the center!!!And remained with a bitter taste from our first visit to London/England...What a shame for a civilized society! adda - 28 Nov 2011 08:35 |
I quite like this pub, don't visit on a regular basis but have always found it to be good whenever I pop in. Good service and good drinks. perfect_spy - 1 Nov 2011 20:27 |
Nothing really wrong with place, but it's a bit gloomy towards the back. Service OK. London Pride also OK, but sold at 3.01 per pint which must be the daftest price in town with all that fiddling for change on one side of the bar or the other... rpadam - 28 Sep 2009 22:55 |
I had walked pst this pub several times, but without ever going in because from outside it looks very dark and cavernous. Once I gave it a try, though, and was pleasantly surprised. very quiet and nice, lots of separate spaces where one can have some room for himself. beer was good, did not try the food, personnel all right and loo in order. Will go back. ebenezerscrooge - 27 Jan 2009 23:18 |
