I should add that it is now called the CHELSEA BAR & is no longer the World's End (Thank Goodness). Elizabeth_KR - 20 Jan 2009 14:10 |
Very Classy. What a delightful transformation -beautiful chandeliers adorn this modern, stylish bar. Lovely cocktails, a glass of champagne or two and beers for the boys. The night we went there was a good DJ playing chillout music and a very nice atmosphere. A very dishy barman made us very welcome. There is table service and downstairs has private rooms too - with karaoke. It is somewhere my friends and I instinctively felt comfortable and is undoubtedly female friendly. We have been back once since our initial visit and love it. A great improvement. I will be back regularly. Elizabeth_KR - 20 Jan 2009 14:08 |
This pub has been closed since May. It's meant to be refurbishing, but I wouldn't count on it opening again anytime soon. bob_nelson_rcn - 9 Jul 2008 14:49 |
It is 2007 so I do not expect too much for my 30.However,I do like to enjoy myself for it. If you are of the same opinion then steer well clear of this place.Good points Eddy, Robin and a mexican lad [bar]are helpful and decent.Never see the manager, never see anyone eatlng.Menu says it all.Pub is clean the loos are dreadful.I am rating this pub 1 for the bar staff otherwise it would be zero. haltonm - 7 Apr 2007 13:50 |
I and other members of the ENO went to this pub last week and this is a missed opportunity. We are from over the road from this pub and thought we would give it a try. We entered 2 minutes before the last scheduled serving time and the barman was busy on his laptop, surfing. By the time he afforded us his attention he looked at the time and said time was up. He then turned to a gentleman at the bar (who it turns out is the chef/cook) and they snortled. The laugh, apparently, was on us. When we protested at his ignoring us, he told us he did not care and that we should 'try to find a night club'(there was more snortelling). There was ofcourse no mangager to be seen, therefore we had to leave, which is a shame since we were hoping to establish this as a regular haunt for performers seeking a regular relaxing environment and a pleasant watering hole. However we will remain loyal to the excellent Sporting Page on Camera Place where you are made welcome. The World's End could score very highly for location and architecture, however, people are everything, and for as long as this establishment is staffed with ignorant boy band look-alike staff, it will remain void of any reason to visit. anonymous - 6 Apr 2007 02:04 |
