| A bucolic location across the road from a cricket pitch and duck pond and close to the Ridgeway, this pub's interior is old fashioned and unspoilt in just the right way. The only downside is common to these parts in that Green King's takeover of Morland has left the pub with an uninteresting selection of beers in the extreme. | Lovely location just opposite the cricket pitch and near the duck pond! Good beers and good non-pretentious food. Landlord not over-exubriant but friendly nevertheless. Considering it's in such a twee village and location prices are reasonable. Worth a visit but try not to park your car on the drive directly outside where folks are eating and watching the cricket, as some ignoramuses do. Try the road instead. pubs4us - 29 Aug 2011 12:14 |

| Idyllic location, on a quiet road with cricket being played opposite - in between showers. The beer was good; we didn't get to try the food as annoyingly we were told on the phone that lunch was served until 3pm but when we got there after a long bike ride the kitchen had apparently closed at 2:30!
