Now, sadly, appears to be boarded up. Another one goes to the wall - and quite a decent pub at that. earlydrinker - 3 Oct 2011 17:06 |
Called in last night for a meal, not visited for some years. Under new management, very friendly and welcoming, good varied menu. Had a very good well cooked meal. BDavid - 15 Apr 2010 11:43 |
This is under new management . They seem to have their work cut out to sort out the kitchen to their liking and add their own touch to the bar. The Ales ... Greene King IPA , Speckled Hen and Ruddles County are in good nick . The staff just seem a little distraced at the moment with other jobs and it felt a bit cold inside . Fair play , they seem to be putting in a huge effort to get this place up and running . It needs a few more punters to create a bit more atmosphere ... and maybe the fire lit !! I hadn't been to this pub for about 6 years but, having heard it was under new management, went there last Friday with the family. I have to say that the food was superbly cooked! Very fresh. Sometimes eating out can be a bit hit or miss and pub food can be a bit mass produced but the food was perfect and all fresh ingredients. All 6 of us really enjoyed it. Very glad to have good pub food locally. Well worth a visit for the quality of food. Jo_Borough_Green - 23 Mar 2009 13:57 |
Pleasant, straightforward village pub - no gimmicks, but a comfortable relaxed atmosphere and a decent pint. Nothing special, but you could do a hell of a lot worse. earlydrinker - 11 Apr 2007 22:01 |
