Great Pub with excellent customer service they had Wickwar Bob real ale on tap and as I had never had it before the landlord let me try it before I brought it. Served at the right temperature you can see that they know how to keep real ale. I will be back this weekend to try some more.

This pub is nearing the end of a major overall. The toilets are now in great shape...!!! The scaffolding has been taken down and it looks right again...!!!
I understand that they will be serving food over the next weekend and there's a well publicised launch.

This new husband and wife team look like they will be making a big difference here. They apparently have got a great passion for customer service, plus they have a zero tollerence of bad language/behaviour It's about time too, as this place was getting run into the ground by the behaviour of a small minority of poorly behaved patrons and general bad management.
It's great to see major brewery investment as well. It's great also to see someone behind the bar with passion.

WELL DONE .... !!!!!!!

Visited Saturday afternoon, 14 Jan 12 as part of a CAMRA pub crawl of Fareham Town centre.

The Fareham is a fairly large pub that is currently being redecorated (good to see some brewery invstment in their assets in these difficult days) and is situated not far from Fareham shops and the town centre. It has the feel and look of a good proper pub. It seemed a bit quiet when I joined our group at 13.30, although there were about a dozen or so people in two groups. The barmaid was pleasant as were the men in the other group when I squeezed past to get to the loo.

They had two real ales on sale and I had a pint of St Austell Tribute which was fine and worthy of a 2.5 on the CAMRA Beerscoring scale (for those that aren't familiar with CAMRA scoring, this isn't a criticism of the overall quality of the ale they sell, just the single pint I had - "2.5" is higher than "average" but less than "3" which is a score good enough to get a pub into the Good Beer Guide). I joined the group late, but the others settled for a second pint here (or maybe a third) which demonstrates there's clearly nothing wrong with the ale.

My only criticism is that both gents toilet stalls need maintenance that appeared to be longstanding. Both had broken locks, one didn't flush (the mechanism was broken completely) and the other had a seat that was insecure. To me, that's basic stuff that means the management don't really care about their customers.

There's nothing wrong with the Fareham (assuming you don't want to sit down in the loo) but it isn't a pub I'd go out of my way to visit again soon.

Pub changed hands many times in the last year. Used to be a good place for food now no food and no proper manager. What a shame. Soon the only pubs anywhere will be Wetherspoons. Good price drinks but food abysmal!

Been going here for a long time. Food is really good and reasonable. Recently it's got loud and noisy and the staff don't do anything about it. I don't begrudge any one a good time but there are limits. Haven't bothered going recently.
