Well RIP the King Billy! I would say no loss but given that it has (many moons ago) been a good local pub and is in a prime student catchment area, then it really ought not be boarded up/for sale. MrCheeky - 7 Apr 2009 13:27 |
Dingy pub run be people who couldn't care less. Frequented by acrowd of losers and no hopers. I'd rather die of thirst than go here again. Avoid. CJG - 18 Oct 2006 16:54 |
classic canterbury boozer because: a) it's crap b) the neck-snapping reaction you get when you walk in c) the pool table can only be properly utilised by contortionists and/or midgets. d) they hate students... yet (in this case) their pub is PHYSICALLY ATTACHED to Lanfranc halls. These attributes (particularly d) are typical of canterbury pubs. you get what you expect. it's great. bender_of_ten - 6 Jul 2005 14:39 |
i FOUND THIS PUB TO BE UNWELCOMING AND BELOW THE LEVEL SET BY OTHER PUBS IN THE AREA. WHILE SOME STAFF ARE PLEASANT SOME SEEM PUT OUT BY THE DESIRE TO ENJOY ONES SELF. THE DRINKS ARE OVERPRICED AND THE JUKEBOX IS EXTREMELY DATED AND FREQUENTLY SKIPS ON MOST TRACKS. THE POOL TABLE IS ACKWARDLY SITUATED AND THE PUB IS OFTEN LIKE A GHOST TOWN darkavenger - 15 Jun 2005 21:22 |
