A pint of Shropshire Gold went down a treat after a long drive from Oxford en route to Bangor and a lentil and chorizo stew accompanied by succulent duck breast slices also hit the spot. My travelling companion also enjoyed his chicken in a basket with chips although the basket was a plastic one. A great option not too far off a key driving route to North Wales from the South and Midlands. BoehmBawerk - 27 Feb 2013 21:50 |
Oh dear. The night we went specials on the board were not available but they hadn't bothered removing them, other customers got meals not containing the ingredients advertised, service was slow and confused, the electrics flickered alarmingly, helpings were small but pretentious, beer unremarkable and the whole thing severely overpriced. They are trying to be what they clearly aren't. ChrisDC - 8 Aug 2011 19:34 |
One word. Fantastic. Food, ales, other drink and service were all superb. Although had difficulty getting a booking in the restaurant due to popular demand and not being able to find the correct phone number! Had to call in and ask the chap at the bar for a card. For anyone else's reference it is 01939262882! Highly recommend a visit! Sarg - 22 Aug 2010 04:14 |
This country pub has been closed for over 18 months. We were really pleased when we heard it was reopening. After our meal on opening night last Wednesday night we were not disapointed. The interior is stylish yet cosy and the food was excellent. It is definately worth a visit and we wil definately be going back for what was a brilliant night. sarahjones - 30 Jul 2010 13:51 |
Pub closed May2009. Another victim of indifferent proprietor and locals who dont value village amenities. Empty most nights of the week, no food served, availability of real ale a hit or miss affair. Very sad. spurious20 - 19 May 2009 21:22 |
