Great pub if you like straightforward honest to goodness pubs. Four good ales (Pride, Doom Bar, Tribute and Spitfire on my last visit), some really interesting regulars - don't be put off by the number of motorbikes outside, there are some lovely bikers here! - and it's as dog-friendly as a pub can get. Big garden, lovely walks on the ranges opposite and free-range eggs from the house next door. A proper boozer. slickslinger - 7 Dec 2011 14:57 |
Nice pint of Black Sheep. Pub friendly and relatively quiet at tea time. Landlord may be broadening out the real ales in additon to the regular Black Sheep, Abbot Ale and Spitfire. Worth a visit. Regular music at weekends. anonymous - 18 Dec 2006 19:54 |
Pub now re-opened! If you like your beer with a little rock music, go along on Friday/Saturday nights. No food as yet, but beers are kept well - Black Sheep, and two others. Quieter in the daytime. Long may it be a success. alen - 1 Sep 2006 22:20 |
The Royal Oak is about to undergo a major refurbishment and will re-open mid to late June. There is to be food available, but it will be a wet led pub with live music. jimmanycricket - 7 May 2006 10:10 |
This pub is currently closed. The owners wna tto reopen as a food pub, according to the sign on the door by the locals, but there could be structural implications. The owners might want to sell it off for housing, is the rumour. furstyferret - 27 Sep 2005 09:39 |
