Okay localish pub not far from Cambridge North station and the footlball ground. Can be a bit Jeremy and Jemima bringing little Jocasta and Julian out for lunchykins though. Ale was drinkable. Snarling_Mallard - 21 Jan 2018 21:54 |
Milton Brewery pub with a decent range of Milton ales, guests and a few ciders. It's a 2 room pub with a small garden and car/cycle park at the rear. It does feel a bit 'spit and sawdust' and service didn't seem the most attentive. The clientele are mixed. Milton ales were Nero, Pegasus, Sparta, Justinian & Marcus Et Aurelius. Guests were Spitting Feathers Special Ale, Lincoln Green Spring Green & Buffy's Norfolk Terriers. Ciders were Crones Cider, Dudda's Tun Cheery Old Dudda, Pickled Pig New Season Porker & Farmer Jim's Copper Top. I quite liked this pub. But I think Milton's other Cambridge (not sure if they're the only two) was better. blue_scrumpy - 27 Apr 2015 20:33 |
If this pub was refurbished 18 months ago I hate to think what it was like before. Bare floorboards, bare bench seating around the walls, worn-out tables dirty and sticky did not give me confidence to try the food and the barstaff, although polite, did not inspire. At least there was a good range of ales with five from the Milton Brewery and three guests. My pint of Milton Pegasus was perfectly acceptable and priced at a very reasonable £3 so not all was bad. My visit here was made with reference to the Good Beer Guide and Whatpub.com and I therefore expected rather better but unfortunately left rather disappointed highly unlikely to return. yellowfever - 12 Oct 2014 13:10 |
First visit since I worked next door (25 years ago) and an instant classic; if a little quiet on Sunday evening. Feels similar to the Devonshire in style, beer and food range, perhaps the customer base is a bit wider though ! Nice ska playing; not sure about the live music arrangements. Milton beers good not great yet. mtaylor40 - 4 Aug 2013 18:27 |
Great newly reopened pub with a REAL community feel. ( pub quiz, stitch and bitch, pudding club etc) Nice beer garden , excellent wine and beer. Fantastic authentic pizzas and great friendly staff. well done and good luck for the future. vino97 - 10 Jun 2013 13:58 |
