Pleasant pub with a definite food orientation. Ales well-kept. 7/10. wobblybob - 23 May 2016 19:03 |
Ember Inns pub and far from being bland. 10 hand pulls split 5/5 at each end of the bar. Price vary from £2.58 to £3.19 a pint. I had a pint of the Doom Bar for £2.58 and very nice it was too. Notice says "All real ale £2.49 on a Monday" bjbrummiejohn - 1 Jul 2014 08:26 |
Bland chain pub/restaurant affair although the ale was good. anonymous - 26 Feb 2013 16:59 |
A large pub with a large beer patio to match,4 Real ales available of which the pint of bateman's i sampled was v good,an Ember Inns operation. 7/10 fat_beer_badger - 13 Oct 2010 15:03 |
I would agree with previous posters that the bar area is poorly laid out. This means that the wait to be served can be quite lengthy even when the pub is only moderately busy. I was there several evenings in October 2009 and they had a very well-organised quiz night (fun but over rather quickly) I think the quizzes are held every Wednesday. I did notice they have a curry night on another evening. Seemed to attract a more well-heeled crowd and mercifully devoid of the beer monsters. Outdoor seating area is right next to the car-park so hardly inspiring. But good solid pub. jaylorn - 21 Oct 2009 12:19 |
