Reviews seem out of date, lovely bright pub. No sign of any pool table or fruit machines just TVs. Nice friendly staff, sat in garden which had beautiful flowers, train was delayed so couldn't stay long but would gladly visit again. Coolmeen - 21 Jul 2016 23:31 |
Interesting blend of characters. Only one bitter on - Youngs Special - which was on good form. Loud dub reggae blaring when I entered (I like dub reggae, so no bother to me). Almost a carnival atmosphere for so early in the evening. Would have to agree with Quinno's summation further below... Komakino - 12 Mar 2013 20:19 |
Change of Landlord apparently in the last month. Dirty glasses and a barman who didn't really have a clue, the beer I had, Bingham's Brickworks was hazy but tasted OK. There is a large traveller's site in Twyford and this pub is frequented by many of them. You are as likely to hear robust opinions said in strong Irish accents than any other. A shabby pub that I will probably not visit again. Abteilung - 3 Jun 2012 17:27 |
Basic but homely pub close to station. 2 binghams beers on - one replaced the Youngs. 3.25/pint and beer a little hazy even though a new barrel put on - probably not settle. Shame about games machines - wot they for? Worth a visit for local beer. Booze_Allen - 2 Jun 2012 12:16 |
Great place for a game of killer and a few jars before a bift in stanlake on way home! TGC members regularly frequent this establishment, they are a friendly bunch apart from the one they call 'angry robert earnshaw' stay clear of him! You can tell members by their uniform browns, blue jeans, white or black shirt! agentmattnice - 27 Aug 2009 13:50 |
