Visited this pub for Sunday Lunch last week end and although the drinks range was fairly basic the food was of the very highest order and reasonably priced. I will certainly be visiting again. WIlfman - 12 Jan 2016 16:19 |
The service was unbelievably slow in this slightly pretentious pub - though the landlady knew she would be busy, there seemed to be only one waitress - who was sweet but untrained and not familiar with the menu. She couldn't cope, nor could the kitchen. It all took forever and mostly wasn't worth waiting for: the steak and ale pie was good but the risotto gloopy and the grilled plaice pappy. Rhubarb and ginger crumble OK. Overpriced for the standard though and dreadfully organised saran - 4 Oct 2008 23:14 |
This pub has recently reopened 2/8/08. It has a lovely peaceful ambiance, nice heated patio and beer garden. There is a good selection of sensibly priced home cooked meals. Three different real ales on tap with a large selection of beers and wine. 10% off meals untill the end of August. Good pub worth a visit. We will Ludite - 11 Aug 2008 15:05 |
Went here a couple of weeks back & was very impressed. Fine range of ales food was excellent.Specializes in fish .The fresh lightly battered haddock with salad peas & chips was the best I have eaten in years.Own babies food microwaved & even washed & returned our china. It pays to travel up from the South to get this kind of attentive service even the prices were cheaper. Well done anonymous - 25 Jul 2007 17:44 |
