| Tried the pub, not very welcoming from the outside, bright lights, no curtains, big signs for food & entertainment...and a tree growing out of the roof. Inside not too bad...but no different to any other local pub. On the night I was there...we had background music, the TV on and karaoke.....not a place for meeting to drink & chat !!....please look at how successful the Thatchers Arms & the Essex Arms are and re-think ...please look at your pub from outside. What would make YOU drink in there? You could have a brilliant pub by attracting real ale drinkers, dog walkers from Thorndon Park, coffee mornings instead of the very few young lager drinkers you are obviously aiming for........I would give you six months and like the Queen Alexander...be yet another British pub that becomes a housing estate.
