| We had our wedding lunch in the conservatory of this lovely pub, the food was exellent and would highly recommend to anybody, the new landlord and landlady went out of thier way to make this a very special day for us, decorating and setting out the tables to perfection, we would like to say a big thankyou to them both and wish them all the best for the future, Glenda and Ray xxxx glenda - 17 Aug 2010 15:07 |
| We had a lovely meal here on Christmas Eve and were very happy to go back again. However, the food was awful! My husband's steak sizzler didn't sizzle at all which meant the steak and onions were undercooked, flavourless and swimming in fat, and the chips were almost solid. The waiter took my husband's plate back to get some new chips but they came back within a few minutes having just been put in the microwave (they were still fairly solid,by the way). What really rankled with us, though, was the attitude of the landlord. He couldn't care less that my husband's meal was virtually inedible and implied that it was just him being fussy. Yeah right, that's why he got food poisoning that night after eating at this pub! We'll certainly not be paying a return visit! country.girl - 29 May 2010 21:40 |

| We were enjoying a leisurely drive when we popped in for a 'quick half' at gone 2pm on a Sunday, expecting them to be closing shortly, only to discover they were still taking orders for lunch. Taking a seat by the fire, we ordered food and enjoyed a fine sample of Adnams. We were very warmly greeted on our arrival, and were well cared-for during our meal. Nothing was too much trouble. I had a traditional roast beef lunch; my other half had chicken. Both were delicious, generous plates of home cooking. Even the vegetables were perfectly presented- hadn't been kept warm for hours like some places. And what luxurious, rich gravy! All-in-all, a very pleasant time. Found the landlord and landlady to be very attentive and friendly. We will definitely be returning, even though it's a bit out of our way.
