The Longwood is a Marstons estate pub that is fairly large and appears to cater mainly for families and diners looking for a cheap meal. 4 ales were on - Thwaites Lancaster Bomber, Ringwood Boondoggle, Brakspear Oxford Gold & Marstons Help For Heroes. I was also pleasantly surprised to see Westons Old Rosie. This was a busy place with many tables reserved (presumably for Valentine's Day). I also decided to treat (!) my wife with a burger and chips, which was ok and value for money. Has a fairly bland interior, whilst the exterior has a large car park and over a dozen tables overlooking Watling Street and the side street it stands on. blue_scrumpy - 14 Feb 2016 21:56 |
Large open plan Banks pub, in a modern building on the old A5 (Watling Street), never that busy even when the football matches were on Sky Sports, which it no longer shows. Food is cheap and OK, beer is OK with Pedigree on draft. Prices are lower than other nearby pubs. bluepaul - 10 Mar 2007 11:58 |
