Awful, maybe this was just a bad day when I went in but I thought this would be a nice place as it had a note outside, smart dress, and such. Firstly there was an old guy wandering around the place in his under wear, even at one point warming his never you minds at the radiator, he certainly gave me the creeps. Then I was served half cooked chicken kiev! The girl took it away when I complained and was very polite and brought me something marginally better.
The pud was lovely but nothing out of this world and I could not wait to get out of there, it was like something from a low-budget Brit horror film.
Never again!...some on here mention burberry sweater types, I can only say they were lucky!

Its an ok pub, no real trouble but it lacks any sort of charm.

14 - 21 crowd? Burberry sweater? Sovereign ring?

Obviously you guys aren't regulars. Unfortunately the oak is "occasionally" visited by folk of the chav persuasion but I'm happy to say not most the time.

The decor is generally ok. they've just had a nice smoking hut added outside with heat lamps. There's always plenty of bar staff to get a fast pint. There's rarely any trouble. I would put the average age in the mid to late 20's. The young'uns only come in Friday/Saturday (before they head off up town) the rest of the week the older regulars make up the majority.

Part of Ember Inn chain so does good value meal deals on Tuesday (steak) and Thursday (curry). It definitely does attract the 14 - 21 crowd as per previous comment probably due to its location opposite a main bus route to Broad Street.

Nasty chain pub. Home of the Burberry sweater and sovereign ring type. Still, does sell some real ale.
