This pub has 7 real ales on average.Hand pull. The young couple now running the Bell are very friendly and laid back. As this is now the only remaining ,of three pubs, in the village it might be as well to give some positive support. I am an ale drinker. I go to this pub to drink good beer at a reasonable cost with people I likein the community. not to look at the decor! Cheers. chipsnbeer - 9 Jun 2013 21:20 |
Awful pub. Totally amateurish in all aspects. shoddy decour, incompetent bar staff, poor management. If anyone wonders why village pubs are closing down, with people preferring to buy their booze from supermarkets and drink at home, they should visit this place. Well this place has opened up again, and I guess the villages will welcome having any pub in their village. It's being run by the same old dragon that runs the Kings Arms in Taunton, to pretty much the same formula. The ales here taste like keg or bright beer just like it does at the Kings Arms. Not really worth going to unless you live nearby, and even then it's touch and go. Dr_Pangloss - 28 Mar 2011 21:44 |
In the absence of a listing for the Riverside, this will have to do. The Riverside is closing at the end of summer to be converted into a house. However the current owners seem to have given up on the idea of running it as a pub already, (not that they had much of a clue anyway). Meanwhile the Bell seems ripe for redevelopment unless falling house prices and the credit crunch has some effect. chopin - 15 May 2008 14:24 |
I hear the Riverside is open. Maybe they should get their own listing in Bite. YoYo - 7 May 2008 22:47 |
