It must be closed. Thre are only shops on this road. Jinna - 31 Aug 2019 09:32 |
This place is now closed with workmen in there. Presumably will reopen under different name after refurb... Number.6 - 14 Aug 2011 19:55 |
The previous comments are spot on. Toilets are awful, with no locks and sometimes doors falling off. Staff are surprisingly friendly but has an image problem. Small selection of beers but can't decide if its a restaurant, wine bar, cafe or pub. It doesn't work but there is somewhere there somewhere. cthitchens - 8 Feb 2011 09:56 |
As I approached this place I thought that it was more of a caf than bar as most of the tables along the glass frontage were being used by people drinking coffee whilst using their laptops. I was grateful to see that there were some draught products, albeit very limited. There are two floors with an old school staircase at the rear of the building connecting the two. The downstairs bar is nice enough, but it is not the most intimate due to the caf feel. The upstairs bar wasnt being used, but the remnants of a raucous night could be spotted. The toilets are also located upstairs with the gents being a bit grim and the wife informed me that the ladies smelt like a farm. There was a live band setting up as we left and I got the feeling that this place could turn into some sort of cattle market at the weekend, but I could be way off the mark. I cant see myself returning here as I do like a traditional pub, but the staff were nice and I couldnt fault much as they dont pretend to be anything they are not. Strongers - 1 Sep 2009 15:01 |
This is a busy pub during the day but dead in the evening. They do really cheap food and if you stick to the sandwiches it is ok. They sometimes do good promotions on their drink and they also have fairly cheap internet access. anonymous - 12 Jul 2007 03:08 |
