| To add to my last comment - been in there a couple of times since and it has been disapponting. Still think it represents decent value for food and ambience it's ust the money grabbing nature of the business which is annoying. | From the outside it looks delightful, cosy and pretty unique...and being off the beaten track you really think you've stumpled across something special. So the night I decided to take a good friend to Quecum Bar I had high expectations. We were greeted by an over-friendly waitress who showed us to our table. As we sat down she made a few inappropriate jokes and when she took my order, she made a face and suggested I hadn't choosen the best dish. I should have taken that as a que to leave! The food was edible but adverage. It is like frozen food and when they're charging �11 for a tiny peice of chicken and some supposedly 'home-made' chips it's daylight robbery! Our bill came to �49 - I felt completely ripped off. Luckily the music and atmosphere were enjoyable but it did not make up for the adverage food and average service we received. | Personally I'm a big fan. Good music, decent food at the same sort of prices you'd pay for worse fare in a pub. Service can be a little noon-attentive, but personally I prefer that to being hassled and asked if I'm alright all the time. The cover charge after 8 is a little annoying though. | I don't have words to explain how disappointed we were with this place - it was bad. Main complaint was that they refused to give me a glass of tap water! ... second the food was terrible. third, they messed up our bill and were vastly over charging us... as you can imagine this caused embarrassment to the evening, and when i suggested that they took of the 15 percent (!) tip they automatically added to our bill they flat out refused. i feel cheated and would not recommended this place at all. elephants - 8 Aug 2008 20:19 |
| Am so glad I'm not the only one. This is one of those places i've walked past so when i decided to go in one evening i was looking forward to it. Yes, the atmosphere is unique .. but thats about the only positive. Sevice very average on the night Cover charge is per head, which they didn't make clear until after we'd bought the wine!" More importantly, food was at the best average, and the worst very poor indeed. Moreover, when i had the nerve to complain, i was told by the owner that my comments were 'silly' , that i would be better suited to a 'fast food chain' and so on...
