A nice country pub with a small brick fronted bar but an excellent range of real ales. Seating is a bit basic with long rectangular tables. Apparently it has an extensive garden but I didn't see it since I arrived at night with a coach party.

i can only echo the comments below, I visited the pub for the first time recently and it is one of those places you feel at home as soon as you walk through the door, which is something not many pubs/landlords achieve. Add to that the excellent range of beers, and all I can say is I wish I was a local....

When a pub is this good, it deserves a good review. A fine selection of session bitters, well kept and served with a friendly welcome. I will go back here because this is the best pub I have been to for a very long time. It's a real country pub and has a real homely feel. 10/10 without a doubt and a return visit very soon.

A lunchtime visit to this Good Beer Guide pub (has been in the guide for 26 years) did not fail to impress. A friendly welcome and a homely feel, it was all that a country pub should be. The selection of beers included Harveys Sussex Best Bitter, Ilkley Black (3.7% Mild), Welton's Pride & Joy and 1648 Bee-Head. Hepworth Conqueror Stout was seen on the row of fonts. There was also JB Cider, locally produced. The Welton's Pride & Joy and the Bee Head were in excellent condition. Well worth the visit and one to head for again.

What a charming place. Plenty of real ales and a very good range of ciders and also lager. Like somebodys very cluttered front room which makes it so charming. Nic nacs everywhere. A barman that gives a good tale and banter. Didn't eat there but the menu although basic was very reasonable.
Will definately go back there.
My pertner and I loved it. There are not many unspoilt pubs left anymore. 10/10 to the landlord for this little gem
