Been back in again and I think I was feeling a bit generous in my previous review. Sports casualwear and hostility. Terrible bar service from miserable looking girl who had about as much charm as an unflushed toilet. Won't be going back. terenced - 10 Feb 2014 13:55 |
An average pub doing average beer with below average service. It's quite hard to get affectionate or loyal for something so average to be honest. terenced - 3 Feb 2014 11:58 |
I ventured into the Shirley Inn at 9pm hoping that things had changed after my two year absence. What kind of fool am I ???? Oh dear things are beyond bad. Seems the nasties have taken over in a big way. A sinister atmosphere which accompanied a flat and watery tasting pint of lager, which I should have returned but the barmaid looked like she'd flatten me just for the fun of it. I spent many happy years playing dominos and darts in the hangar bar which has since been knocked into one bar, with nice people and friendly staff. Whatever happened???? Anyone know? I could have put up with the chavs but the new clients are something else. Plumpian - 7 Sep 2012 14:37 |
Even Vicky Pollard wouldn't drink in the Shirley. The conversation amongst the regulars is beneath her. Plumpian - 7 Jun 2010 17:34 |
Once the most 'upmarket' of pubs in the area (thanks Stan and Phyllis), a succession of poor managers has turned this into a place that Vicky Pollard would frequent, and be made welcome. Trult dreadful! gentlebloke - 1 Apr 2010 00:17 |
