Good fun being downstairs and everything, but there was no ale on by the time I got to the bar so I had to make do with John Smith's. Which, in this day and age, no one should have to do against their will, really. plymouthpirate - 2 Dec 2013 22:07 |
A cavernous downstairs pub and probably an OK place to watch the fitba but really nothing special and only Thrappledouser among ales on tap. Friendly service and anice enough crowd in a pleasing city while the building has its merits. BoehmBawerk - 4 Nov 2013 13:09 |
The unusual, quirky layout is unfortunately the best thing about the Illicit Still. Beer, prices and service all serve to disappoint. Shame really, because this place does have some potential. ImOnlyHereForTheBeer - 7 Mar 2010 21:41 |
In agreement with the comments about this being a nice cosy place in the winter. Its hard to leave if it is snowing outside. Lots of twists and cubby spaces. Nice food aswell. Highly recommended. Revel - 25 May 2006 13:38 |
Very cosy pub, expensive, but sometimes it's worth paying that little bit more. SpecialBrew - 12 May 2006 15:44 |
