Helpful and friendly staff put you at ease on entering The Royal. Good selection of real ales available with Tetleys Cask and Dark Mild being the resident beers plus a fine and ever changing line up of guest ales. For those who aren't fans of the ales, there's plenty more to choose from plus a pretty good top shelf offering for those that prefer a shorter drink. Entertainment comes in the form of a weekly Quiz (Tues), Darts and Doms(Weds) Doms 5's & 3's (Thu), large flat screen tv showing pretty much any sporting event you could wish for, fruit machine, quiz/games machine, outside seating available for the right weather and a covered smoking area for when it's not. Regular live music slots featuring local artists. Give it a try, you might just like it! Lardy2333 - 10 May 2013 17:39 |
Popular with locals has nothing to do with it being the only "Pub" in the town one wonders? The other watering hole (and I mean HOLE)being a CIU club. Must agree though, had a good evening in there last weekend, Good ale and warm welcome after day on nearby canal. sheerline1 - 13 Jun 2007 22:14 |
the royal is a very welcoming pub it has regular quiz nights, hosts darts and doms on a wednesday night. the food is quite cheap and there is more than enough for one person. weekends can be very busy and it is popular with locals. lisa beetham - 17 Nov 2004 21:41 |
