Fabulous...this pub is by far the best place to eat, very welcoming, warm toasty fire when you walk in. Comfy seats and tables and excellent food. Not your standard pub grub. Braised rabbit followed by custard tart...lovely! Serves a decent pint too, what more do you need?? pubprosie - 17 Dec 2010 07:33 |
Quite agree with Biggles. We hadrallies there when Tony Smith was the landlord. Why do they think these "upgrades" are an improvement? motorcyclist - 25 Jun 2009 23:08 |
Gutted! That's how we felt when we walked in, and that's also what someone has done to this pub. Shame on them. I remembered it as a real old village 'local', and it still looks like that from the outside, but inside it has been completely stripped of any individuality. A cold atmosphere, the ubiquitous brand new pale wood bar counter, dreadful little spotlights, everything about as unlike a pub as you could possibly get. Goodness knows where the old boys from the village go for their pint now, I imagine it must have done Kettleburgh Chequers trade a power of good. Biggles - 10 May 2007 17:13 |
