I like it. I like it a lot! Friendly and cosy with a welcoming atmosphere, The Black Horse seems to be quite busy these days I'm glad to say. Ales are well kept. I will have to sample the grub next time I go in. Check it out dougdeep - 24 Jan 2018 11:32 |
Thought I'd give this pub, which is situated on one of the main roads running west out of Norwich, a chance as I'd seen it was in the last Good Cider Guide. But alas the guide is now several years out of date and this was probably the most disappointing pub we visited in Norwich yesterday. On arrival, it looked closed. Although we could see a couple inside. There was a for sale sign on the outside and the door was closed. However seeing the other customers, we tried the door and found it opened. Real cider is no longer stocked. Although they did have a real ale - Crouch Vale Brewers Gold. The inside was rather dark. We chose the outdoor courtyard at the rear where we were pestered by wasps, whilst supping our halves. Can't see this pub staying open for much longer. Although it has plenty of potential. blue_scrumpy - 18 Aug 2013 16:07 |
New Landlords seem to have taken over this decent edge of town pub recently and the improvements show. Decent ales on included Wherry and Adnams with a guest always on my my recent visits. Food was good too and priced reasonably. Homely taverns feel to bar with excellent outside areas. One I will pop into next time and handily close to the Fat Cat. theposh - 6 Jan 2012 09:31 |
I took the wife and kids to the Black Horse the other day and had a very good meal and a great price! The food was wholesome and well cooked. The atmosphere is freindly, relaxed and the staff helpful. All you can ask for really! The KIDS menu is very good and the drinks reasonable. I was so impressed I am suggesting we book our office XMAS PARTY there as they offered me such a great PARTY DEAL!!! 10 out of 10 BLACK HORSE!! Benson100 - 9 Nov 2011 10:42 |
