Recently refurbished, this pub is well worth a visit and the well kept Barnsley Bitter and Mild are among the cheapest pints in town. Ignore previous moaners - you don't have to "knock to get in" unless you turn up very late, and you will be made welcome in here, not harmed! Spyke - 1 Feb 2008 11:58 |
Cheap bitter, but a strange strange place. Nottinghamian - 2 Dec 2007 17:55 |
It's saying something when a pub had grates over all the windows, which, have still managed to be broken in a couple of places and have stayed that way for well over a year without anyone bothering to replace them. Add to this the fact you have to knock to get in, it doesn't add up to a welcoming experience. Last time in there a friend of mine was greated with "bones get broken in here you know" by one of the locals. Stear well clear of this hole. peamun - 18 Dec 2006 09:50 |
When I lived i Nottingham it was known as "Get Lamped at The Lamp"! anonymous - 1 Jul 2005 08:57 |
A bit scruffy inside but most of the locals are friendly and they serve a well-priced drinkable pint of cask Barnsley Bitter. Cobbo - 15 Sep 2004 18:43 |
