A real nice pub, affable barman /landlord made the visit enjoyable. Good beer (both selection and quality and good food completed the package. cellarbuoy - 20 May 2017 22:42 |
I lived in Kingsbury during the late 70's and very early 80's. I went back in here the other day when I was in the area. The bar has been moved other than that it's still basically the same. Beer was good but no trad cider!!! wolvesfan - 23 Jan 2015 17:23 |
We found this pub by accident on our way from London to Exeter and what a find! We stopped for lunch, the food was good, hearty fare (think pie, fish and chips, roast pork) and my husband says the ale choice was above average. But what really made this pub for us was the warm welcome. The barman was good value with great local knowledge, provided a high chair and plenty of smiles to entertain our 5 month old. The place was pretty busy for a Friday lunchtime and he made time for a chat with everyone who came to the bar. A great little pub just off the A303, we will definitely be back. Traditional village pub, the beer, Butcombe was very nice and the landlord / barman pleasant. Food seemed good, but didnt try it myself. Cosy atmosphere and pleasant clientelle cellarbuoy - 19 May 2012 16:07 |
A return visit whilst driving through the area, Landlord still the same old character, Sunday locals popping in all very friendly. had a good pint of cider and the Butcombe was aok also. Always a charming place to visit and, remember during the earlier part of last year on a night time visit, it was heaving with people dining and the band playing. My friends first ever visit rated it very highly in all aspects. james55westhead - 16 Jan 2012 06:34 |
