Saturday evening visit at about 18:30. Too early for eaters but quite a few tables reserved for later. Beer choice was Hobgoblin or Landlord. I went for the Hobgoblin but was limited to a couple of pints with a meal because on driving duties. Certainly recommend the beer. So what about the food? I have to report reasonable pricing (sub 10 for a beef and ale pie in October 2012) and certainly good value. Nothing special but good pub grub. Worth a visit. Afterwalking - 13 Oct 2012 19:02 |
I visited this pub last year and found the service and food excellent. So I took my daughter there for a pub lunch on her birthday yesterday (4th June) There were only 5 or 6 other customers in and also because it was during the jubilee celebrations I was unsure if food was being served. When I asked about food, the bartender (whom my friends inform me is the owner) was quite rude, making a sarcastic remark about bringing our own food if we wished to eat and added that he wasn't respecting the jubilee either. Maybe we caught him at a bad time but it was embarassing and I won't be going again, shame, because otherwise it is a nice pub. Timclaret - 5 Jun 2012 22:25 |
Nice old country pub. Friendly owners, good food and a fine selection of beers. What more could you want from a pub? How about a large(ish) beer garden with a great, elevated, view of the Aire valley. Perfect for kicking back on a lazy afternoon...weather permitting...of course. xxb - 18 Apr 2011 15:37 |
Food, beer and service were all first-class. My discerning friends liked it all very much. Will certainly go again. Greywolf - 20 Apr 2010 21:45 |
Cosy well-kept pub high up on the side of Airedale with a nice back bar containing sports memorabilia. Lovely view from the terrace overlooking the Aire Valley. Friendly hosts and well kept beer I think it was Copper Dragon at my last visit. Cravenite - 20 Jan 2010 13:27 |
