@blackandwhite

Your experience was most likely down to your own attitude rather than the regulars. There are many people who now frequent the bar after 'falling in' with the usual suspects and becoming part of the social scene, both inside and outside of the Junction.

Great place. Friendly staff. Shame some of their regulars let them down badly and put others off.

Paid a long-overdue visit to this small bar lurking almost unnoticed in a parade of shops of fast-food outlets.

Essentially, the main bar is a long corridor with a rear bar at the back.

The drinks choice is pretty limited (no ale here) but there are couple of slightly unusual choices on offer - Murphys (don't see that much any more) and SuperBock - which will do.

Atmosphere was fairly good, can see why this is a hit with the locals. There's TV and music available.

Might pop in again if nearby.

The Junction has long been a favourite haunt of many Newtown residents and for good reason. The bar is friendly, trouble free and a real multi-cultural meeting place with a great atmosphere. Although the front bar is quite small, there is a rear bar with a big screen and a pool table, which is opened when the front gets too full. The bar is well stocked and the draught beers immaculately kept. Prices are in keeping with the area but a 'happy hour' from 4-6PM sees the price of a pint drop well below anywhere but a Wetherspoons. Food is not available apart from the usual crisps and peanuts but you are in Cemetary Junction and have a serious choice of takeaways in easy reach.
I've been a regular of the Junction for many, many years and can thoroughly recommend a visit.
