| This pub has reopened - and how! The plan to redevelop it as private housing was fought against and won by three local chaps. Had lunch there on Friday - very well kept ale - 2 x Butcombe, (including Rare Breed rebranded as "Cliffhanger") plus guest ale (Fullers), superb refurbishment as upmarket gastro-pub, fantastic food including several vegetarian options and really friendly staff, also dog-friendly. | It IS abandoned: for sale as a "private dwelling" at �550,000. "Having been vacant for the past 2 years the property comes to the market in need of sympathetic renovation and refurbishment throughout," says the estate agent. | Quiet village pub which does food ut more importantly sells a couple of the excellent Hopback ales, namely Summer Lightning and Crop Circle the latter of the two being in top condition on my recent visit. John - 23 Aug 2004 13:23 |
