Recently reopened after a 300K make over and you still cant get served, food waiting times are a joke and organisation simply atrocious! Shame as the menu and refurbishment make the Tavern an inviting place to visit, but just dont expect to get served quickly or efficiently. September 2011 ray13 - 14 Sep 2011 13:25 |
Pub has changed a bit since i last reviewed it in 2003. It is still family orientated but the DVD and the pool tables and games consoles have gone. The food is average and the drinking area is small. Some of the locals aren't all that friendly either. Its clean and well presented though. cls14 - 8 Apr 2009 12:26 |
Yes, this is where the BBC filmed an episode of Keeping Up Apperances back in the earlt 90s. I remeber them doing it as i was over the road at the LandRover garage at the time anonymous - 10 Jan 2006 01:15 |

Once a pub trying hard to be modern and only having limited success the place was gutted by fire just over a year ago. Since then it has been re-vamped to a family pub. The interior is modern, as you would expect and it is a very family orientated pub with DVD players for the kids, games consoles and pool tables. With adults only at the bar it isnt swarming with kids though. Serves food as well so its more of a place for a family meal or a swift half on the way into town than somewhere you'd stay all night.
