Under-utilised pool table and dodgy Brazil penalty in the World Cup opener... ...that said a deceptively large pub, good beer, and impressive quantities of body art on display. More TVs than a Currys superstore. All in all, a very pleasant evening... ...GOOAAALLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Off for a Brazilian ! TheBiddenhamToddlers - 12 Jun 2014 23:38 |
first visit in many years, worst pint of ale i had in ages - flat, freezing... dont think i'll be back in a hurry moclips2002 - 3 Apr 2013 14:42 |
Always been a nice place, but the beer has in the past been lacking in quality. From my last few visits this is no longer the case. Wells Eage IPA, Courage Directors and occasionally Bombardier in great condition. Hopefully this pub has a great future ahead of it as it is finally living up to its potential. jjsint - 17 May 2011 16:53 |
Prompt and friendly service. Limited range of real ale (Courage Directors and Wells Eagle Smooth, were on). Has two bars, one has a big screen showing music videos and possibly sports and the other is on the other side of the bar, which I am yet to venture into. If walk past 'the main' entrance, and look in the pub door, it seems deadly quiet, which could put people off but if you have to actually walk in you can see where most of the customers are. Traditional community local, with a modest range of real ale (despite the large number of handpumps on both front and back bars). Usually Courage Directors, but the Wells Eagle IPA was also on when I visited recently and was on good form. rpadam - 24 Jan 2009 00:36 |
